Our Seven Sisters is a long-time favorite and a Danish classic. Our traditional coffee cakes, bake our famous Danish pastry inside, giving you a flaky center filled with our delicious scratch made fillings and then are finished off with crumbly streusel.

Our Almond Custard Seven Sisters Coffee Cake has been a long-time favorite for over 70 years at our bakery. It is a classic Danish pastry, made with creamy almond filling, smooth custard, and then baked into seven spiraled rolls. This coffee cake is aptly named for a prominent constellation of stars that Danish sailors used for seafaring navigation. This winter constellation called the Seven Sisters of Pleiades helped delimit the sailing season and signal when to avoid stormy seas. We don't blame those sailors for wanting to stay home, particularly if this coffee cake was on the table!

In our exploration, we happened to stumble upon a recipe for Estonian Kringle that looked so incredible we had to try it! With copious amounts of cinnamon and a touch of apple, we take our Danish pastry and braid it together to form an intertwined knot of pastry goodness. We bake this slowly and then douse it in sweet glaze and finish it off with a drizzle of our signature icing. You could say that we plundered the idea for this recipe and made it our own (hey, we are Vikings by the way...)- but with how good it tastes, I mean how can you blame us?!
