Advent calendars originated in Germany in the 19th century as a way to countdownthe days to Christmas. In those days they used chalk, candles or straw to mark the days. And while that is effective, we can attest that when you add cake into any situation, it makes life better. So that's what we did! With our beautiful advent calendar, you get twelve unique petit four cakes for each of the twelve days of Christmas. Petit Four cakes are a very small fancy bite sized almond cakes which we coat with either white chocolate or rich chocolate ganache. And that is when the trouble started, he hasn't returned to the sleigh, and it's been about 15 minutes and the reindeer are now getting antsy. Where could he be?
